Our School Council have been busy having class meetings with a focus on our current 'Life Skills' curriculum. The members have been finding out what the children think they need to learn to keep them happy, healthy and safe. They have also been discussing what opportunities and risks they face in the our local community.
The MPS Friendship Squad recruited two leaders last term to replace our Year 6 leavers. The new leaders have been busy recruiting new members this term by advertising with certain year groups. Candidates were asked to complete an application form and then the leaders interviewed them to check their suitability for the role. We now have a great new team of volunteers who are doing a brilliant job. Their role includes supporting our Reception children by playing with them at breaktimes, eating with them at lunchtime and escorting them through the school from the dining studio to the playground. Other members who are on duty are available to help support any children who need help finding a friend to play with or to help resolve any low level disputes. All the squad members have had some conflict resolution training.
