Welcome to Mattishall Primary School.

I joined Mattishall Primary School as Headteacher in September 2010, having previously worked in Nottingham and Derbyshire. During my time as Headteacher I have seen some significant changes and encountered many challenges, more recently being the effects of the Pandemic. However, these have certainly been counterbalanced by the many positive experiences and highlights, working within a wonderful community.

We became an Academy and part of Synergy MAT on 1st April 2017 and since this time we have gone from strength to strength. Working together within this formalised structure has brought our school community many positive benefits and given us the opportunity to work with similar minded schools. This means that we can share expertise and network on a regular basis. More recently we reviewed our curriculum offer to help bring a consistent approach across the MAT schools.

I am very proud of the children and staff; we have a very friendly and caring atmosphere and visitors often comment about this. We provide a calm and creative environment for learning in which individuals feel safe and secure. We provide a high-quality curriculum with a clear pedagogical approach that is broad and balanced.  

We value contributions made by parents and volunteers and ensure that we listen to their feedback. We have a very effective and dedicated LGB (Local Governing Board) and a successful fundraising team.

We attempt to include all stakeholders in important decision making, including the interviewing and appointment of new staff.
