Geography

At Mattishall Primary School we intend to bring the world near and far, and its people similar and diverse, closer to our children.

We believe that Geography should help to inspire and provide answers to questions about the physical and human aspects of our world. We want our children to understand that Geography is about Place (Where somewhere is in relation to others and what type of place it is), Space (What it is like there) and People (What people do there).

Children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of the world, starting with their sense of place within it so they can identify and appreciate similarities and differences and how they came to be.

Our curriculum intends to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas and which can and are used to promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
