Dereham Library information

Local Churches

Members of the local churches are invited to visit our school and are included in our Religious Education teachings where appropriate. Churches represented include the Church of England, the Evangelical Church and the Methodist Church.

The Parish Council

The school maintains close links with the Parish Council. All stakeholders work with the Parish Council to express their views on local issues.

The Scout and Guide Movement

The local Scout group has its headquarters on land which they lease from the LA adjacent to the school site. This building is also used by groups of Beavers and Cubs. These groups regularly use the school playing field.

The Doctor’s Surgery

The local surgery and chemist are very near the school. Surgery staff offer advice to us on minor injuries and liaise with us on School Health issues.

‘Miscellanea’

This is the village magazine for Mattishall and the surrounding area. We often contribute accounts of our events and items written by children.

Early Years Foundation Stage Providers

We have close links with our local providers (Bishy Barnabees, Little Footsteps Mattishall and Rocking Horse Nursery). There is close liaison over the transfer of children into our Reception year and the delivery of the Early Learning Foundation Stage curriculum.

Local High Schools

We have very good links with both Neatherd and Northgate High Schools in Dereham.

Community Use of School Premises

The school buildings and grounds are offered to the public for hire (subject to availability) and are widely used by the village community for meetings, social occasions and special events.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
