Our School
When making decisions about pupil premium funding it is important to consider the context of the school and the challenges arising from this. Common barriers for FSM (Free School Meal) children can be less support at home, weak language acquisition and communication skills, lack of confidence, more frequent behavioural difficulties and attendance and punctuality issues. There may also be complex family situations that prevent a child from flourishing. However the challenges are varied and there is no single solution. We work hard to identify individual barriers to learning, ensure equality of opportunity and provide targeted support so that children reach their full potential.
Our main objective in using PP funding is to diminish the gap in achievement for ‘disadvantaged’ children. Through targeted support we are working to eliminate barriers to learning and increase progress. We analyse our data rigorously and examine the impact of any work we do with children.
