It is a real privilege to welcome you to Mattishall Primary School as the new Headteacher.

Having already spent some time in school, I have been struck by just how special this community is. I have seen happy, curious children, committed staff and a strong sense of pride in the school. Most importantly, I have felt the warmth of a community that genuinely cares about its children and wants the very best for them.

Mattishall is built on strong foundations. It is a school with a proud history, a caring culture and a community that understands that the best things happen when we work together. I am incredibly excited about being part of that journey and about getting to know our children, families, staff and wider community even better.

Our school motto, ‘Be Kind, Be Curious, Be Your Best’ captures something I believe passionately in. Every child is unique, and with the support of parents and teachers, they should be encouraged to embrace their individuality, explore their curiosity and develop the confidence to become the very best version of themselves.

I also want us to be a school that never stands still.

Being good is not the same as being finished. We should never stop asking ourselves how we can be better — not because what we do isn't good enough, but because our children deserve us to keep learning, improving and striving for excellence. I want us to build a culture together where curiosity, reflection and ambition are part of everyday life: always looking for the next step, always learning and always seeking to do better.

As part of Synergy Multi-Academy Trust, we are fortunate to be part of a wider family of schools. Being “Stronger Together” means sharing expertise, learning from one another and working collaboratively to provide the very best opportunities for our children. Our partnership with the Trust gives us access to a wealth of experience and allows us to benefit from the collective strength of our school communities.

At Mattishall, we will continue to provide a calm, safe and inspiring environment where children feel valued, listened to and confident to be themselves. We will offer a rich and ambitious curriculum that encourages children to become enthusiastic learners, creative thinkers and resilient individuals, ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Our staff are central to making this happen. I am incredibly proud to be joining such a dedicated team, and I look forward to working alongside them as we continue to develop and improve our school.

Parents and carers are equally important partners. We want you to feel part of school life, to share in your children's successes and to know that your views and ideas matter. Our wider community, governors and volunteers all play an important role in making Mattishall the school it is today, and I look forward to strengthening these relationships even further.

There is a great deal to be excited about.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining Mattishall Primary School and cannot wait to see what we can achieve together. If we hold on to the strengths that already make this school special, while having the ambition and courage to keep getting better, I believe the possibilities are enormous.
